My Path
Mosaic has since the beginning been an expression of Art in itself. The works, to the delight of admirers, radiate in the most beautiful monuments of the History of Civilisation that have followed in Millenia.
I work with traditional and contemporary techniques to create mosaics of great diversity : unique pieces, reproductions of ancient mosaics, furniture, objects, murals, architectural projects.
My mosaic work is rooted in the broad perspective that I have with our planet : water, fire, earth, mineral, vegetable and the living. I sometimes view things like through a zoom, sometimes with a wide angle, on certain facets that nature offers me.
My childhood was impregnated in the tropical rhythm and colours, first in Africa and then the Caribbean before life brought me back to Europe, better to leave to the great outdoors of Australia.
I discovered mosaics in Australia. This reconstruction of a whole by the assembly of particles made great sense to me.
The observation of nature that surrounds me goes from Microcosm to Macrocosm, and I make these trips back and forth by playing with transparency, opacity and density.
I like including in my compositions materials that create contrasts : zinc, strings, brass, paper, glass, clay, granite, polished concrete ... etc...
